Controller Vs Keyboard and Mouse

Controllers vs. Keyboard and Mouse: It’s a troublesome topic among gamers and there is
no end to the debate. Gamers that have a strong preference for either console or PC gaming have
their views. Both have their place; however, the debate is ongoing with no end to bias. The main
factor of the argument lies in deciding which input method is best. But there are so many
different games and platforms that exist, which can make this challenging. You have games that
are easier to play with certain input methods compared to games that don’t require such. Are you
a Keyboard Warrior? Or are you Button Smasher? Which is better for you?
Should you use a Controller? Well, Controllers are mainly used for console gaming.
However, there are plenty of PC gamers that use them for their setup as well. I personally use
both a controller and keyboard and mouse (I am a PC Gamer). One of the reasons why
controllers can gain the upper hand in this debate is because they are more portable. Think about
the wireless controller and think about easy it is used. You can be at your girlfriend’s house, on
the sofa, on the bed, or on the ceiling; you can take your controller with you wherever you go.
Some can even argue that Controllers are more comfortable, but I’d argue it depends on the
system itself. However, they are designed to fit your hands, and the buttons are configured for
video gameplay.
Should you use a Keyboard and Mouse? If you are looking for Precision, then absolutely!
By the principle of their design, a mouse will grant you a level of precision that you just can’t get
with a controller. Let’s say that you need to land a couple of headshots 20 times out of 10 and
every second matters; then a mouse is a tool that you need to get you there. A keyboard and
mouse can also give you the edge in a competitive gaming environment as well. Keyboards with
gaming can be used for customization as well. Keyboards have access to hotkey manipulation
and even macros. These can be used to your advantage in gaming, as you can press one button to
achieve two actions or more, thus gaming faster and more proficiently.
Bearing in mind the conversation between the Controller vs. Keyboard and Mouse, the
most important thing to think about is your gaming environment. Are you a tournament player?
Do you like to play with your friends usually? What would it look like if you were lightning fast
on your Keyboard and Mouse, yet your competitors and friends only use controllers with
their consoles? Which is better for gaming? We know that PC gaming is indisputably better for
frame rate, graphics, and overall experience. However, could you be limiting yourself as a player if
you leave your console behind to master the Keyboard and Mouse? It’s not that serious. You
don’t have to choose a side if you don’t want to. Why not choose both? But if you can’t choose
both, and must pick a side, just remember why you are gaming.
